Your database is not writeable for some reason: are you running slimserver as its own user (highly recommended and the default I think)?
If so, make sure it can write to places it needs to write... The sqllite file and the preferences file: Assuming the user is 'slimserv': chown slimserv /etc/slimserver.conf I have no idea where your sql file is, though, been a while since I used it.
