It's the finish. The SB3 has a very polished finish that attracts and shows dust very easily. The SB1/2 have a soft-touch, rough finish. You can load that thing up with dust and as long as the coating is even you won't notice it. And it's actually not that easy to clean - you can't merely wipe it off, you'll have to use a cleaning solution to actually wash it off.
