Sure. The next time this happens, press the BRIGHTNESS button to
adjust it to the level you want. That will set the dim level for
when the player is idle. (Similarly, pressing the BRIGHTNESS button
when it's not idle or when in standby/off will adjust the brightness
settings for those modes.
