I may have found part of your answer. I am new to SB3 and had come across a similar problem as that given by ezkcdude. I tried connecting to a UK based station and it stated "cannot open URL". Following some investigation I found that the station in question has recently restricted its (free) access to UK based locations. International access is now only available by subscription. My guess is that Slimserver is 'seen' as an international location.
Additionally, I have seen comments on the SS forums that it is possible to replace stored URLs. It could be that the station you are trying to access has moved and that the new URL needs to be input?
