I'm a little fuzzy on what the Xilinx does. I can show you a pretty picture of it: http://www.slimdevices.com/photos/inside_squeezebox2/11.jpg say that it's a CPLD, show you its web page: http://www.xilinx.com/products/silicon_solutions/cplds/ and also say that CPLD stands for "Complex Programmable Logical Device": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPLD But as to what it actually does, I'm not sure. In my mind it's an intermediate, programmable chip between the CPU and the DAC. I'm sure someone has complete details about what it does, but when you get strange sound issues, reprogramming the Xilinx often helps. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24244 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
