An article dated 08/2004 (http://www.eetimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=26806414) says that SD had sold "some 10,000 MP3 players". That was almost 2 years ago - 3 years after the launch of the slimp3 and long before the SB2 or 3 came out. Given all the recent publicity, the new models etc I'd be amazed if the current total was under 30k.
