When I ordered my Qnap, I wasn't sure how much I really needed it and almost cancelled my order on a couple of occasions when the ship date kept slipping out. However, now that I have it I wouldn't be without it. It's a wonderful piece of kit and the price/performance ratio is pretty impressive. Using the web interface, it's a wee bit slower than my PC, but still perfectly acceptable. Using the remote control, I notice no performance difference between the Qnap and my PC as server.
The only minor issue I experience is related to the one mentioned by Heuer in post #651 in the update thread. I only get a 2-second drop out and only when skipping the previous track. If the random playlist progresses normally, every thing works fine. All my music is ripped as FLAC and there is not a problem with large, uncompressed files.
