My Ipod went on the blink and showed that it contained no music when I
browsed on it. When I plugged it into my PC I could see it was still
full of music so I copied all the files off and then reformatted the
ipod to get it to work again.

The problem is that if I now put all the files into itunes only about
half of them will appear and be playable. My guess this is because
itunes puts them in some strange format before putting them on the ipod
to try and make this a one way process. I reaslise if I had been clever
I should have used a program like irip to get them off but I didn't.

Is there a way of turning these files back into playable files or have
I lost them all? They were all in folders named Fnn (were nn is a
number from 00 to 49). The ipod was also formatted for a mac (so it
works on both mac and PC).

Thanks for your help

Ed
