I'm running SlimServer 6.2.2.0 on an Infrant ReadyNAS NV running RAIDiator™ v2.00c1-p9 [1.00a014]. I've been ripping many CDs -- over 5K .mp3 files and counting, and out of superstition thought it would be good to rebuild the database.
In the web interface, I clicked Home / Server Settings / Rescan Music Library [Clear Library and Rescan Everything]. That was three days ago. In the meantime, I have rebooted my ReadyNAS NV a couple of times. Since then, I observe the following: -- attempts to connect to the Slim Server via FireFox simply hang (but they don't time out) -- Safari *will* connect to the Slim Server interface. The player status window informs me that "Note: SlimServer is still scanning your music library, please be patient as this may take a while" (Did I mention that I started the Rescan three days ago?) So I have three questions, from most important to least important: [1] Is there a way to stop the rescan and start fresh? Should I clear out any state before doing this? [2] If the host server is rebooted (in this case, the Infrant ReadyNAS NV), does the rescan start from scratch, or is it checkpointed as it goes along? That is, must I let the rescan finish without rebooting the NV? [3] Has anyone observed FireFox NOT working when another browser (e.g. Safari) works? Thanks. -- cyclops ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cyclops's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5945 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24666 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
