I also use Hamachi to connect to slimserver at home. Much faster than OpenSSH.
Here is a script (windows, there is one for Linux to) to install it as a service on your server if you are using the free version. Post nr 3 on page one. Hamachi creates a virtual nic so you can use XP fw to protect your computer.
