>From a personal stand point i have yet to see a Flash interface that was actually usable, and i used to work with a Flash "developer" (he was neither a designer or programmer, *bad* combination :). Also on another forum i haunt there was a Flash banner ad for SkyHD then ground state of the art 64bit AMD systems to the ground, just for their stupid spinning spiral things. Thus re-inforcing my opinion of Flash :)
Yeah i know i'm probably being hard on it, but thats just my thoughts. On the other side, i've been looking at Microsoft CRM (Customer relationship Management) server for work. It's interface it 100% web based with a SQL Server backend. and it is *very* nice. took me a while to spot what it was actually doing, it really illustrates what *can* be done using modern web technologies. EDIT: another down side of Flash is that any developer wanting to contribute to its development will need a licenced copy. also who knows how this will work with the SlimDevices SVN code base. I'm guessing you would have to check out the latest version, make changes to it, then check your version back in. All the time hoping you are the only one working on the file so you don't have conflicting updates etc. I do think a Flash interface will appear at some point, and i can see some people really liking it, but i also think you can get just as much functionality from a well engineered web interface. -- funkstar ------------------------------------------------------------------------ funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25321 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
