I presume you are either playing this stream through SoftSqueeze or you have WMA built in disabled.
The problem seems to be Slimserver has extracted the URL from the BBC ASX playlist - it is prefixed by HTTP and then for some reason changes it to MMS before passing to Mplayer. Mplayer will play the proper HTTP URL but not the MMS one.
