Even though there's been a fair bit of vitriol sprayed back and forth
on this whole "flash interface" subthread, I don't think your ideas are
invalid. I'm not a flash fan for many of the reasons already brought up
(needs browser plugin, proprietary, costs an absurd amount of money for
a developer to get started with it, is not truly cross-platform), but
I'm not one to shun great UI work just because of the underlying
technology.

FWIW, I don't think there's anything stopping someone from developing a
flash interface using the slimserver CLI as an API. There is also no
reason that said interface would have to follow the same convention as
a standard skin, either.

I don't think I quite understand your question, but I believe the
answer is NO. I believe the slimserver CLI would allow you to build a
graphical UI in whatever way you'd see fit.

One last thing: Why don't you sell your Squeezebox and buy a Sonos? Is
there something that's keeping you aligned with Slim for your streaming
audio needs? I don't mean to put you off with that question, I'm just
trying to figure out why you wouldn't already be a Sonos owner if the
remote is so appealing to you... If it's cost that's holding you back
from Sonos, you should drop the "slim needs to build a graphical
remote" thing, because there's no way a squeezebox plus
slimgraphicalremote would be appreciably cheaper than the Sonos
solution.
