It's another reason I didn't go Sonus, you essentially waste a
zoneplayer as an expensive wireless router. Slim has the better
server/client approach and now has good industrial design, but the
remote now looks lacking and I personally think that a web page on a
PDA doesn't really cut it as part of an audio set-up. It's a good
kludge, but still a kludge. 

I see it like the GPS car systems, originally they were PDAs with apps
and plug-in cards, clever, but not ideal. Now they are all dedicated
devices that start up quicker and have optimally designed UIs and
physical control layouts - and they are cheaper.
