Well... I decided to wait a couple of hours. When I checked back at my system lots of info had appeared in the DOS box. So, it seems that the rescan function just needs a lot of time to complete. In the proces SlimServer as a user interface is shut off while slim.exe does the job in the background. The user is pretty much left in the dark of what actually is going on. That I think could use some improvement. Anyway, my music library is fresh and funky now.
