I must be one of those non-audiophiles then because my squeezebox digital output into my Proceed AVP and NAIM 82/180/SBLs rocks. Without getting silly with hugely esoteric CD playback rigs, this setup is easily comparable with my audiophile £1500 CD player. It is only the jitter of the digital connection that is unassessed in this solution.
