I agree 100% with you. A high-end product is for audiophiles only and they will never be happy with it !!!
On the other end, it would be really great to have a simple squeezebox with built-in amplifier and integrated speakers (and maybe an FM tuner), to move it from the bath-room to the kitchen, to the garden...
