Hi. Another newbie here. I've recently purchased a 200Gb QNAP, and I'm having a little trouble with the device shutting down and restarting for no apparent reason. It's quite warm at the moment, which makes me wonder whether there's some sort of thermal protection, but there's nothing in the event logs other than the informational messages about successful shutdown and startup!
I've updated the Qnap firmware, but other than that, the device is out-of-the-box. It's running a static IP and my SB3 is also using static IP via 802.11g through my Netgear WAP/Router. I've got most of the sharing functions (webserver, multimedia station etc) disabled, and am only using Slimserver and a few shared folders. It shut down and restarted about 6 times in quick succession earlier (hottest part of the day - any connection?), and when you're in the middle of an album, that's kind of annoying! Apologies if this problem has already been discussed and solved earlier in the thread. Any advice?
