You're right - in my present system, I only use 1 drive and back it up
to an external drive.

I guess I still had it in my mind of trying to compete with the NAS
boxes. The higher-end consumer ones use drives in RAID 1 or RAID 5.
Of course there are drawbacks to that - if your drive controller fails
you have useless data unless you get the same exact drive controller to
replace it. With ClarkConnect I would've been using software RAID,
which is slightly more failure-prone and would corrupt both discs if it
failed. No backup in this case would mean loss of data. Also with 2
discs powered by the same power supply, if something were to happen to
the power supply they may both be damaged. Plus 2 discs pushes the
power and heat dissipation requirements up.

Nope. They seem to supply to industry - they supply a lot of SBCs and
PC104-type PCs, including some unique high temperature SBCs. Note an
SBC in a PC104 configuration would work well for SlimServer too, the
problem is finding a case.

With industrial suppliers like that, they may not supply to individuals
either. And the "no prices" thing is meant to deter people like us from
comparison shopping.
