Not really.  In china, you cannot use mains powered clock radios since
they use the 50Hz to maintain accuracy.  In China, it's never exactly
50Hz so the clock can drift up to 5-10 minutes a day!  Not wanting to
use battery clocks, an internet clock which is always correct is quite
usefull to me.
