Thought I'd throw in my $0.02. I absolutely love my Tannoy Reveal Actives. I have a $15k Linn system that is my pride and joy... but I'm constantly shocked at what I can hear on the Tannoy's that I can't on the Linn system.
The Tannoy's are studio speakers so they are designed to be neutral in sound. Personally, I like this more "true" sound but some may find it a bit harsh (especially when compared to a softer sound like the Linn's). Tannoy's have been used in audio engineering studios for years so many of the CDs that you listen to may been mixed using these speakers... so in the ideal world, you are hearing the mix as close to what the engineer intended as possible.
