After some reflection, Transporter doesn't 'do it' for me. It is an over-priced monolithic design. You shouldn't have to pay $2000 to get 24/96 digital output.
At that price point it is a bit like buying a TV with a VCR built in. I just want my multiple sb3s to be able to send digital output at 24/96 to any of the many excellent (and cheap!) DACs that are available. Each DAC has a different sound. Let *ME* choose the DAC and sound I want. Don't force me to buy the VCR-TV combo because I won't. But the firmware is no longer open source, right? So 24/96 on the sb3 remains at the whim of Slim Devices..
