Well, I can make recommendations based on what I didn't forgot to do! We had a house built and put CAT5 everywhere (except the one spot in the Kitchen where the SB2 went - so we have a WiFi SB2 there which works great) - put in plenty of CAT5 and then some more if you can.
Because I failed to think about it - we now have some Samson Active speakers on a shelf which also has the SB2 - I wish I had gone for ceiling mounted speakers - unobtrusive etc. So - ceiling mounted would get my vote any day (for the Kitchen at least) There are lots of threads around on good amps which take up very little space - I will go there one day! Plenty of conduit or wire going from ceiling space to SB location for amp/speakers etc - I hate visible wires which could have been hidden easily at build time.
