So I found a thread on here that said when you are using a preamp you should turn the volume on the SB up to 40 but when I do that I get distortion in the music. It sounds like clipping but I use replygain in foobar for all my files and they don't clip on other systems. It seems to effect certain frequencies more than others. Ozzy's voice for example. The gains on my amp where set using the CD player and when I turn down the SB volume I get noise in the system. So I'm just curious what the proper settings would be when using a SB to preamp to Amp setup.
