For future reference, regarding the inability to open Slimserver web
interface.url, the workaround for this is to:
- launch Internet Explorer (click start, click run, type in 'iexplore'
and hit enter)
- go to Tools -> Internet Options
- click Applications
- click the Reset Web Settings button (this will set your default
browser to IE)
- close IE and open your favorite browser--set it back as your default
browser

I'm not sure why this happens on some Windows systems but it's usually
related to third party web browsers being installed and causing
problems with Windows file associations for certain types of files
(.url, .html, possibly others)...
