If Sailing Clicker don't want to support Slim, that's their problem. In terms of non-line-of-sight control, there are a ton of options. I can control all my players from desktop PCs, laptops, my PDA, even my PSP. If I had a smartphone, Treo or similar that would work too. And then there's the excellent Nokia 770 with it's custom control interface.
If the guy who writes SC wants to come on here and get help with whatever problem he has supporting 6.5 I can guarantee people will help him out.
