Hi,
Is it easy to modify these skins for someone with HTML background?
There is a bit more to it, but it should be easy enough once you get
used to what is where.
HTML/EN is the core set of templates. Where other skins are missing
templates, the EN skin is used
with the skins' local styles applied. slimserver.css is used for
global styles, skin.css for local.
I would also like to modify Handheld so that there are three pages
instead of four. The three pages would be Home, Status/Playlist, and
Search. Having Status and Playlist on the same page would be more like
the default browser interface, where you can see the status at the top
and the playlist below.
first step, add [% playlist %] on the second-to-last line of
status.html in HandHeld.
then you'll need to modify playlist.html to get rid of the [% PROCESS
pageheader.html %] line, and edit pageheader.html
so that you can change the links across to top to get rid of the
playlist link.
The look of the Touch and Nokia770 skins are awesome, however, when I'm
on the status page or any other page from the home page, none of the
buttons on the white background(player controls, volume, etc), or the +
button to add to playlist works on my 8125. I would switch to one of
these interfaces if someone could explain how to get those buttons to
Unfortunately, IE is not known to support ajax very well, and
Nokia/Touch skins rely on this.
The main problem is the IE seems to think that dynamic data the likes
of which ajax provides should
be something that is strongly cached. So, mostly you never know what
you'll get. There are other style issues
due to differences in the way browsers handle style information.
