I have a home made internet radio recorder. Right now, it only works for MP3 streams - i think I know how to rip real media but haven't been motivated.
Its basically a linux shell script that uses mplayer in dumpstream mode. There are detailed complications since mplayer won't stop on its own, you have to kill it. And lots of other details. I then schedule linux cron jobs to record streams. I've attached the script and the source of a program that scans to the first valid MP3 frame.
