I've just seen that Dell offers an update for the Intel wireless card, released only last Friday.
Key fixes/enhancements: * Addresses intermittent connectivity/wireless disable issue on some 3945ABG cards. I frequently checked the Dell support pages for updates but I guess and really hope this one will finally fix my issues with dropping wireless connections.
