I'd also bet it's a connection problem.  I see this a lot with
Softsqueeze, but not my squeezeboxes.  The date/time saver freezes at
some point.

If you go to the home page of the web interface the next time this
happens, refresh the page and see if the player is still listed under
Setttings.  If not, then the connection has been lost.  But if it's
still there, then you may have some other problem.

With Softsqueeze, pressing 'Now Playing' restablishes the connection in
a second or two.
