You're right. There isn't a lot to cut. :) Graphics optimization is one thing to look at (I haven't looked so maybe nothing can be saved there). Making sure a device like the 770 can cache graphics is something to be aware of (but not something anyone here can likely change unless it's just a matter of HTTP header content missing) AJAX, as you mentioned, is a definite plus and certainly a requirement if a skin is to seem more application-like and less web page like. As an example, I have no idea what technologies are being used in Sonos' controlled, but from the screen shots, I believe their interface can be replicated within a web browser, including the scrolling highlights within fully visible lists. Do you by any chance have a list of the fonts built into the Nokia 770 that can be used by its web browser? Does anyone have any contacts at Nokia for development information/builds? Perhaps this is something Slim/Logitech can work on if they're interested in really promoting that device as a controller. Right now, as mentioned, it's really the only viable alternative in a small form factor. -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com) | 'mira - Personal Control for your Apple Remote' (http://twistedmelon.com)* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29699 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
