I've been experiencing the same troubles and I thought you'd found a silver bullet here -- my usually rock solid stream, Otto's Baroque (http://64.62.253.223:9030), was stuttering badly today after only 5-10 seconds. When this happens I've taken to pausing the stream for about ten seconds and it seems to fix it, at least for up to a few hours. But no go this morning. So I tried this and it worked -- for about 2 minutes, and then it stuttered just as badly as before. I'd originally put this problem down to some kind of flow control being used by my cable internet provider. But why it should only happen on some streams and not others doesn't necessarily fit with that diagnosis.
