I might move it to Linux in the future, but Windows just isn't a suitable OS for any kind of server-based software. At least not with a desktop installation of XP Pro.
My goal is to eventually run SageTV under Linux as well. But right now that setup is something I can't dedicate the time to. The PowerMac G4 also runs SVN, FogBugz issue tracking and a few development-related mySQL databases. I don't mean to upset anyone, but running this stuff on Windows would be like building the foundation of a skyscraper using toothpicks (without glue). -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com) | 'mira - Personal Control for your Apple Remote' (http://twistedmelon.com)* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29810 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
