I'm in the same situation and I'd like the option of buying a black faceplate. Come on, SD, the previous black version wasn't really black at all, you're admitting that now. So consider it a bugfix and allow us to upgrade for a small fee! ;) I'm actually expecting them to change their policy on this, they have done so before (graphics upgrade, remote upgrade), if they sell 'm for $20 or so they'll even make a nice profit.
