I haven't opened up the SB to check inside it, but I did use to work for a company that makes network connected devices (including a never marketed prototype of a SB like music receiver back in '99) and I'd be surprised if the current processor and RAM of the SB wasn't enough to support playing music from a docked iPod.
It already has both a wired and wireless network protocol stack which is far more complicated than what we're talking about now. Just add a USB port, some software and you have made the decision to buy a SB a lot easier for many people. Just the power costs for a server using 200W (I'm guessing about the power consumption) turned on 24/7 is about $250 per year where I live. Or a new SB every year. -- morberg ------------------------------------------------------------------------ morberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8757 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30399 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
