This is actually a partially-broken setup that involves more than profiles - when you connect the Squeezebox to the PC, bridging will be disabled. You should find that the PC loses Internet access when the LAN option is on. When you turn the LAN function on, the Squeezebox turns the wireless card off.
At any rate, it's a very, very rare setup. Yours is the first mention of such an arrangement. You can file an enhancement request at http://bugs.slimdevices.com (you'll have to create a new account) - it's the only way the firmware developers can track it. However, and I don't mean any offence here, it would not benefit many people and firmware space is tight enough as it is. Only the developers can say for sure whether it will be worthwhile for other issues though, and unless you put in an enhancement request, you'll never know and it will never get done. As a workaround, connect the PC to your router either using a cable or a wireless bridge. The cable is preferred because that will only make it one wireless hop to your Squeezebox. I understand that's part of the reason you have the Squeezebox in the first place, but if you have the Squeezebox close enough to the PC to wire it (and the Squeezebox close to your stereo), why not use a long audio cable out of the PC to the stereo and use the Squeezebox elsewhere? This way the Squeezebox will always be in communication over wireless for both SqueezeNetwork and SlimServer. Plus the PC will always have Internet access. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30709 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
