I am also getting this problem (as I recall I haver always had it) and I use DHCP. Currently on 6.5 (have tried later builds but regressed due to album art problems). I just recycle through the 4 step set up - takes a few seconds and then it's stable. No big deal really - yes it should work without that but I can't get too excited about I'm afraid and as for trying to fix it - personally I'd rather just sit back and listen to the music.
