After you've worked with the menu for more than 4 hours it might make a lot more sense to you, and you might see the thought that has gone into its evolution over the years. What is obvious for you (talk radio is important, LMA is "pointless") is the exact opposite for other users. Why would users in Ireland naturally think to look for Irish music under "International"?
I suggest that you make good use of the Favorites menu in both slimserver and SqueezeNetwork. It's a quick way to get at the stations you like most.
