Infrant ReadyNAS. Doing a straight copy of music from the windows box to the NAS gets througput of around 12MB/s, which is far from their claimed benchmark, but acceptable for my purposes. I'm comfortably able to edit tags etc. residing on the NAS from the windows box. The performance issue definitely does not lie with the NAS or connectivity to the NAS. Can't be CIFS either otherwise copy operations etc. would be dog slow too. I reckon it is a slimserver issue, albeit I find NFS inherently faster than CIFS hence partially accounting for the Linux box performing better. -- egd Linux and loving IT! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ egd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3425 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31844 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
