Sorry, first post but seems to be totally wrong. Check info about LA
Rosita (Apertura) which is based on airport express. It is apparently
far beyond SB3 due to its conception. Haven't checked it personnaly yet
but forcoming...

That's a well hidden secret. Google turns up zilch, sure you haven't made a typo?

I feel exactly the same as the post creator about slimserver. I do not
understand why this bloody SB3 cannot react as a client to Itunes as
roku does. Currently considering of getting rid of SB3 because SS with
500+ CDs is such a pain .. somewhere.

I don't understand why you bought it in the first place. There are very few products about which so much intimate knowledge can be found on the internet. I have 1247 albums according to SlimServer and I'm yet to feel this pain you mention.

I suppose it wouldn't be a very difficult task to create SB3 firmware that behaves as an airport express, so why don't you get some others to join you and write it?

There's a Linux client for the AE already at http://raop-play.sourceforge.net/ And here's some more info: http://wiki.xmms2.xmms.se/index.php/Technical_note_to_describe_the_Remote_Audio_Access_Protocol_(RAOP)_as_used_in_Apple_iTunes_to_stream_music_to_the_Airport_Express_(ApEx).

Peter
