Bingo! Nero is a great example, it's never worked for me from the get-go. Same with ZoneAlarm, I used to like it but when they started bundling anything and everything with it, it started getting unstable for me. Core competency - let programs do what they do best and don't combine them. EAC's core competency is ripping. SlimServer's is serving audio to Squeezeboxes. Do not put ripping functionality in SlimServer - it'll never be as good as EAC and you just end up increasing the bloat and instability. Same with tagging - the SlimServer development team couldn't hope to come up with something as good as Mp3tag. Nor should they, concentrate work on where it is needed, -- Mark Lanctot "It's like, you know, a New Age religion, but with better treble response." - Jon Heal ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31879 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
