If your Slimserver host runs Linux/Unix and has a serial port, for $15 - $30 you could get some X-10 Firecracker gear and use my BottleRocket plugin to control power to the Onkyo, especially if you can't use IRBlaster. http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BottleRocket.html
