It'd be very useful to have input from a SlimDevices developer about these changes being made the MySQL settings. Erland... as the person who may well be closest to the SlimDevices developers (due to your wonderful plugin developement) have you any idea which developer would know most about the MySQL implementation? I have a feeling it might be Andy.. but am not at all sure.
