Hi, Sorry for the delay. I've been away / had no time. OK The problem still persists. Ive uninstalled AVG just in case. I have just installed Avast Home edition 4.7. Im not sure the AV software iusnt a red herring but this is a virtually clean insall now with hardly anything on this PC. Its just used as a music server running XP Pro.
