If you can't delete mysqld.exe then the process mysqld.exe must almost
certainly be running. Have another look in Task Manager. Make sure you
are seeing all running processes. Kill it if/when you find it.

FYI (and any others):
To completely remove SlimServer 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 from Windows 2000/XP
etc it is best to:

* Stop the SlimServer process (right click on tray icon and select Stop
SlimServer).
* Remove Slimserver program via Windows Add/Remove Programs.
* Go to Task Manager and ensure that all slim related processes are not
listed (i.e. mysqld.exe, slim.exe or slimtray.exe). If any are listed
right click on them and select "End Process".
* Then go to your installation directory (by default: C:\Program
Files\SlimServer and delete it.

All done.

Note: The usual problem with deletion is that the Windows SlimServer
uninstal program has a bug and does not (cannot?) stop the MySQL daemon
and so the file mysqld.exe cannot be deleted and neither can the
directories containing it.

in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
