I can't promise any of it will stay through an official release. Since the code is in an experimental stage, it seemed as good a time as any to try to see what ajax can offer. Drag and drop is there for favourites pages, and for the playlist page, but there are limits. Drag and drop cannot work across frames, so the current functions are only for reordering and deleting. It could be possible to add a "hotspot" for dropping a playlist item to make it a favourite, but this will require more global support server/SD side. I don't have the kind of time to maintain something like that unilatterally. The playlist handling is already fairly heavy, and the 'ajax' updates suffer from it. I'm not sure drag & drop is a step up in UI, if the response actually "appears" to be slower.
