mplayer is very suspicious of streams and seems to prefer to autodetect
the stream type from the content and not the headers.  Most of the time
it does a very good job.

If you use this command you will see it is trying to decode the stream
as video and OGG amongst other things - Not sure why but mplayer is
eventuallky convinced there is a companion video stream and so it waits
for it to start.  

mplayer -v -v -playlist http://woxy.lala.com/stream/aac32.pls

The following tells mplayer to use decoders and protocol specific to an
AACplus over ICY links and not to auto detect - and so it starts
quickly

The above options are used by my conf file entries to force the issue
for Slimserver as Slimserver examines the ICY-CONTENT header to
determine how a stream should be handled.
