I am running slimserver 6.5.1, released, on an XP machine with 1 gig ram. I have an SB2. Since upgrading to 6.5.1, I have noticed a problem that completely escapes me.
I can play my music on my XP server with no problem. I can switch from slimserver to squeezenetwork using the remote and my SB2 with no problem. HOWEVER, when I try to switch back from squeezenetwork to slimserver, i.e. select "connect to slimserver" (with slimserver up and running I might add)I find that just doesn't work. The SB2 display, instead of connecting to slimserver, simply gives me the internet station that I had been playing - or at least that is what the display says. I don't believe that this problem existed earlier, but to be honest, I haven't tried earlier versions, because that was my primary reason for switching to 6.5.1 - I was having other problems at the time. The only way I have found to get back to slimserver is to disconnect the power for a few seconds, then when it comes back up, press and hold the "add" button. As I recall this forces a factory reset, and that is what appears to happen. When this does happen, I also need to download new firmware, which it says has been successfully downloaded, the SB2 reboots, and after going through the various setup scenerios, lo and behold I am connected to slimserver. This is, obviously, a bit of an inconvience, not to say a bit frustrating. Does any one know what is causing this, a way to get around it, or just what is going on?
