I understand what you are saying and the whole point of me asking the question in the begining is becasue I didn't want to have a computer on 24/7. I wanted to know what options were open to me using one of the slim devices without having a computer on whenever I needed to play the music. If you look at Sonos their system can play music without the computer being on and connect to external storage devices.
