For a while, I used a Seagate 300Gb USB2 drive. There weren't any functional problems with it - Slimserver didn't have a problems with visibility etc. What I did notice, was that if the drive hadn't been accessed for a while (& had presumably spun down), there was a noticeable delay in loading & playing the first track - 5 to 10 seconds or so. You could also see this delay just by browsing to the disk in Explorer - so it wasn't Slimserver.
